How to get started with Grok Bot

Grok Bot is a separate app. It is not built into this website. This website is information only.

To use Grok Bot, you get the Grok Bot app on your own iPad or iPhone, and you type or speak your questions in the app. There is no Grok Bot chat on this website, and nothing here will ask you to sign in.

Get the app from the App Store

You need an iPad with iPadOS 18 or later, or an iPhone with iOS 18 or later. To check, open Settings, tap General, then About.

  • Open the App Store and search for Grok Bot.
  • Make sure it's the real app: the seller is X Corp.
  • Tap Get. Downloading the app is free.

Sign up inside the app

  • Open Grok Bot and tap Log In or Sign Up.
  • It opens a sign-in page. Follow the steps there, then come back to the app.
  • The app will show you if you need a plan. Choose Premium or higher. Read the price on the screen before you tap to pay.

Send your first message

  • Tap the message box and type a question. Or tap the microphone to speak it.
  • Then send it. Grok Bot writes back in plain words.

Cost: the app is free to download. To use it, you need The X Subscription Premium plan or higher. In October 2026, Premium was $30 a month or $300 a year. Always check the price on the screen.

Stay safe: never type your Social Security, Medicare, bank, or card numbers, or passwords, into any chat.
